Idaho pasture pigs
About the breed!
The Idaho Pasture Pig is a newer breed that was created to be the perfect homesteading pastured pig. Duroc, Old Berkshire and the KuneKune pig were used in its creation.
These three breeds combined at just the right breeding created the wonderful attributes that the Idaho Pasture Pig is known for being a medium sized pig with sows maturing at 250 - 350 lbs and the boars maturing at 350 - 450 lbs.

With their upturned noses from the Kunekune, they can be found happily grazing the pastures with their primary diet being that of grass and balanced by a feed formulated to balance the pastures. They are known and loved for their wonderful personalities, ease of working with, great mothers and being able to live outside year round.
With their diet being primarily grass they reach a butcher weight of around 250 lbs in 8 to 10 months time where you will be rewarded with delicious red marbled pork with fat that melts in your mouth.
